Great Chicago Band.

“Rolling Stone and ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ Holding Unsigned Band Contest, Winner Gets Mag Cover, Appearance on Show, Record Deal
popculturebrain:

Jimmy had some really cool news to share with us tonight: Rolling Stone, in conjunction with Atlantic Records, is holding a contest to find America’s next hot new band and make their TV debut on Late Night!!! The magazine and Atlantic have scoured North America and picked 16 unsigned bands to compete for the most coveted prize in music - the cover of Rolling Stone (plus a record contract and the chance to appear on Late Night!).

Click through for more info and to listen to and vote for the 16 bands picked. Some of them are pretty good.

VOTE FOR EMPIRES.  EMPIRES EMPIRES EMPIRES.
But seriously, Howl and Bang are two of my favorite albums of all time, their live show is an experience and they are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.  They deserve this.”

Major winter storm approaches Chicago
January 30, 2011 9:24 PMBy Meteorologist Paul DaileyTravelers be advised—a Blizzard watch is in effect for northeast Illinois and southeast Wisconsin for later Tuesday into Wednesday. Winter storm warnings are up for the plains and various winter watches and Advisories have been posted for points east and south, as a strengthening low pressure system moves out of Texas and heads for the Ohio River Valley. Scattered flurries will turn to a steady light sticking snow by Monday evening. By mid-morning Tuesday about three inches of snow will have fallen, and after a brief let-up, snow will begin to fall in earnest as northeast winds strengthen later in the afternoon. Blizzard conditions could arrive Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday, with northeast winds gusting above 40 mph whipping and blowing snow falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour creating whiteout conditions. Meanwhile across southern and portions of central Illinois and Indiana a broad area of freezing rain could build up a layer of glaze as much as a half-inch thick.Arctic cold ThursdayAs the low moves toward the east coast, carrying the heavy snow and freezing rain with it, a cold Arctic high pressure air mass will follow covering the plains and Midwest Thursday. In Chicago temperatures early Thursday morning will be near zero with wind chills 10 to 20 degrees below zero. The cold will begin to moderate Friday with readings approaching the 30-degree mark this coming weekend.

This store is located at :

Neighborhood: Lakeview

Checkout their word press! They update with all the the Inventory, New Arrivals & Events at Belmont Army in Chicago, IL. From shoes, backpacks and sunglasses to dresses, pants and sweaters.( I love their shoes that they carry.) It’s a one-stop for vintage and consignment, which is neat because they also carry a good selection of men and womens clothes. Which I’ve noticed a lot of stores around town are very heavy on the women clothing. They get Nike, jeffrey CampbellAdidas and great boots from what I’ve seen.

These Chicago comics are some of my favorite comics in all of Chicago. Hard working funny as hell! They’re set to have an album release party for the ages Friday February 9th, at Timothy O’Tooles pub. (622 N. Fairbanks Court Chicago Illinois 60611).

I will attending and it will be great!
